I agree with other races when they say in general Caucasians are racist ( Clearly not all of us are, but more than you would think…) . I am part of their race and I have been teased my whole life about my skin colour. I have porcelain / alabaster skin. I hate being called Casper, mayo, or called a ghost. I do not want to be told that I would disappear in the snow if I closed my eyes. I don’t want to hear ‘Why are your wearing white panty hose?  Oh that is just your skin’ How is that even funny? They know I am bare legged. If I had a nickle for every time I have been told I am too pale and need to tan I would be rich. I burn so easily that I make sure I am covered in sunscreen. On sunny days I use a parasol have sunglasses and highest spf sunscreen I can buy. I carry sunscreen in my purse so I can reapply.
Why would I want to go in a tanning bed or lay out if I burn extremely easy. Why would I spray tan or get a fake one? My skin tone is exactly what it is supposed to be for my colouring. Also how the hell is it acceptable for people to comment on my skin colour? It is offensive. Just because we are the same race doesn’t mean I need to be a certain level of tan. It is rude. Every skin tone is beautiful and we are all humans.

  1. Great post! I completely agree. I have been teased all my life for being a redhead and very fair. I do not suit fake tan and I burn in the sun. I am the only one of my friends that applies high sun screen and covers up in the summer. Good on you just being yourself! All the best, Amy x
